Telematica Instituut is one of the five Top Technological Institutes in the Netherlands focused on bridging the knowledge gap between universities and companies. This done by setting up research projects (2 to 4 year range) focused on the implementation of ICT. Projects are funded jointly by industry and government (national and EU). In my role I am responsible for the acquisition of the industry funding by creating a network of C level customers.

• Human Inference (http://www.humaninference.com), a software company that develops and sells software products for the enhancements of large customer databases. Functions are deduplication, enhancements of names and addresses and merging. Products are components available on a broad range of platforms from mainframe to PC.
Role:
• CTO responsible for the direction of development, development department and coordination with other depertments. Also responsible for partner management and market development.
Results:
• Major migration to new technology to make the products more sophisticated while maintaining portability.
• New structure and method of appraisal for the employees
• Development of new products and functions, including strategic directions like SAif, a standard for the interchange of customer data
• Several partnerships with companies like SAP

Here I performed several roles:
• Managing consultant for a group of organisation consultants focussed on customer of Origin (1992 – 1994). During this time I introduced the CMM model in the organisation leading in the end to a software factory model
• Technical Manager, responsible for all projects undertaken in the business unit Arnhem (1994 – 1996)
• Account executive focussed on the account Achmea (1996 - 1998
• Practice manager electronic commerce (1998 – 1999)
Results:
• Development of several successful service products focussed around the Capability Maturity Model
• Growth of the account I was responsible for as technical manager from 3 to 20 million guilders
• Selling and completing several large projects for Achmea (over 10 million guilders)
